Discover the Beauty and History of Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi Open Space Park

Nestled among the picturesque ridges overlooking the Suisun Valley, Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi Open Space Park offers visitors a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural significance. Spanning 1,500 acres, this park is a treasure trove of scenic landscapes, diverse vegetation, and panoramic views, making it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Opening weekend I took a very beautiful hike on one of the new trails.

A Tribute to the Patwin People

The name Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi, pronounced Put-win-no War-klaw Kaw-doy De-he, translates to "Southern Rock Home of the Patwin People" in the Patwin language. This name, bestowed by the Tribal Council of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, pays homage to the land’s deep-rooted significance for the Patwin people, the indigenous inhabitants of this region. The park’s designation reflects a deep respect for the cultural heritage and historical ties of the Patwin community.
